Caulk and our clearcoats
I shudder when I think I'm actually considering this... <sigh>
Since I broke those clips on the replacement turn signal lights (and have repeatedly failed at creating new ones), I was THINKING of a few TINY dabs of clear-drying caulk to hold them on (may God have mercy on my soul when he finds it).
Any idea what effects caulk might have on Michelle's clear body wrapper? I don't see a problem with the caulk itself, but the chemicals used to keep it liquid before drying might cause problems...

when you speak of clear caulk, i'm assuming you're talking about silicone caulk. most of the silicone caulks use acetic acid (a part of household vinegar) as the solvent. i'm not exactly sure how this would affect paint (but couldn't be too good for it).
Actually, I think it's a good idea...
I don't think a few dabs of high quality silicone caulk will have any adverse affects on the paint.
My Land Rover had the side markers attached in exactly this way by the dealer.
