Okay everyone, take a step back and count to ten. Seriously.

net is, the CDV removal is free, but if I were you, I'd upgrade the clutch first - at least use an AP1 flywheel and ACT pp, and then if you're still not happy, remove the CDV.

I know one person that did this and I've read of others here, and they all love the setup with the CDV still in, although some went ahead and removed the CDV.

Alright dude, im giving you the chance. i just tried to be nice to you.
IF you really want to continute this, youll find out whos bitten off more than they can chew. trust me.
The "my buddies" is a client of mine, but im not here to brag about the work i do, or have done. i dont need publicity. doing quite well thank you.
Sorry im not impressed by your front driver, they arent impressive. There are rows of them here, most of them ive had my hands on. probably 40 local to vegas that drive around over 500 whp.
i JUST came in from the shop doing a 3 inch DP back on one of my clients turbo civics, actually we then went to sushi. LOL,, anyways.

I see your on some sort of crusade to prove that im hiding some true me, thats rude, obnoxious, or disrespectful in some way... you can try all you want. been on these forums long enough for the people that count to know what im all about. they know that i call bullshit when i see it. my posts may sound a bit cynical, but i assure you its just the way i retort that creates that assumption.

I agree with some of the other poster's we are now in "the dead horse zone"
so lets drop this.
IF youd like to continue, attempting to make me look bad, and making yourself look like an ass, then touche. i have plenty of ammo.
IF you even feel like arguing over a cdv this much, then PM me. we can throw knowledge, or insults for that matter,, all day long.

Have a good day. dave

Funny, and good to hear you mention that. I pretty much pioneered that setup. i have to give credit to billman on it also.
I pulled my clutch of my s2k like a month after i had it, and i was like.... wtf, this flywheel seems heavier than i remember. so I Pm'd billman, said, hey! have you noticed the flywheel differences. and he had also had a new ap2 open, he says, yeah, but i havent weighed them.

SO next time i had an ap2 apart, i had an extra ap1 wheel here so i checked the difference. sure enough, 21 lbs ap2, 13 lbs ap1. i was like... hmmm, how many reasons can i think of, why they would have done this. harmonics/crankshaft nodes were my first thought. then someone had the idea of the shift time frame, and possibility of falling out of Vtec. To me, cdv had nothing to do with either of these, knowing the anti shocker' background, i knew what it was for. having also seen them on several other makes models, including M3's.

Chaz car.

ap2 flywheel

ap1 flywheel

SO in the end, ive done 3 ap2's with ap1 flywheel. and all of them are quite happy with it. there is a member on here, from texas, who has done it also after calling me... well see if he chimes in...

I haven't posted on this board in a long time. I can't believe this ^^^^ pompous dick is still trying to throw his (light) weight around. Get a grip idiot. The fact of the matter is that many of us DON'T do clutch drops, but DO like like to occasionally row through the gears slamming redline shifts. Removal of the CDV is not an issue. Get over yourself....

ron
way to jump on the bandwagon jackass.
what are you even talking about? I speak up against removing factory stuff, and get jumped on for it? You think im gonna lay over like you would, and take it?
"light" weight? nice try. This is why ive been off of this forum for over a year. It has alot of intelligent people, but it has alot if ignorant wannabe's.
Bad thing is, the poor people who come on and know nothing, looking for help, always run acrossed people like R11, and others who act all tough like they know it all. and the people like me, that actually DO something, and post it. get ridiculed, and put down, for ever speaking up.
Same as before. Im just gonna be me, and input what ive found. for those of you who dont like it, take a long walk off a short peer, you wont be missed.

oh, wait wait... i spoke out... the TRUE me has been shown....

I took my CDV out tonight, for those who say it does nothing to the clutch feel in everyday driving, i couldn't DISAGREE with you more. This totally transforms the feel of the clutch. Gone is the mushy, vague feeling. Upshifts are much more crisp, no lag at all. Driving around town at light throttle is smoother, you really know what's going on down there. No more modulating the gas on takeoff. Seriously, Night and day. YES I agree if you are going to bang every shift and sidestep, you might not want to take this out. But for those of us who do not abuse the tranny that much and are looking for a direct feel from the clutch, this is it.
