Default Center Console pieces on an 04

Hey guys I tried to search for this but I'm having a hard time coming across anything. Basically I want to know if the brushed aluminum center console pieces (the piece that is around the convertible top controle/hazard light and the change compartment) come apart from their plastic backings? I know they will pop off the car but does the brushed aluminum come off from the plastic backing as well? I was thinking about trying to get them powder coated as a cheaper option than switching to the 06+ which I've heard is black brushed aluminum but obviously I wouldn't be able to powder coat it if I can't seperate the aluminum from the plastic.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It's screwed on. Buy 3M Di-Noc Vinyl. It's easier than refinishing and it's reversible.

Its plastic painted silver. They are screwed on. Just take the console completly off and look at. It's not very hard to do.

you can't get new pieces for the cupholder. it does unscrew but you can't buy a new piece. I know the one between the roof and hazard button is replacable cause i have to get a new one due to my stupidity.
it's 73 bucks at majestic. yikes!!!
