Ceramic Brakes?
Just saw a CarX commercial advertising Ceramic brake package, anyone know anything about this?? They showed it on a Ford Escape. Sorry, just need to run out the door and didn't have time to look it up.
pbm;
Porsche's ceramic brake option ($8000.00+) has a composite ceramic disc and using metalic pads. Light weight and durability is the selling point.
Suppose to last 'forever' but very noisy for street use.
Ceramic pads have been out for awhile.

The discussion of Porsche Ceramic brakes on one of their web pages is sure to start an interesting discussion.
To say the least, there is much disagreement on their cost/benefit.
Some guys have spent in the tens of thousands(non-warrantied) where there have been problems.

Those ceramic brakes cost $$$$$$ to redo. I heard of a guy who wore his out in about 24k? miles on a GT3 and it was like $12K. Of course its the ultimate track accessory.
Noisy as hell around town though.
