IS 25K way too much for a 02 with 24K miles? Its perfect
). I bought my NEW 2002 about 20 months ago and paid only a few thousand more than $25k.I'd imagine $23-24k is about right for something that's relatively clean and has low mileage. Of course, the market may act otherwise if you're in a high demand area. If so, let me know where you are and I'll go sell my car there!
I'm in NJ, there arent to many CPO within reasonable distance of 08002
Edmunds TMV is 27K!!!
If your car was certified I would, I know in reality the CPO doesnt mean much
but it makes me feel better.
The dealer I went didnt even have any used S2k's at all, the went to a site,
VIPS as they called it and showed me all avaialble S2k's they could certify.
So when the car comes if I dont like it I can walk.

i got my '01 certified with 24k extended bumper to bumper with 49K on the clock for 18.8 + 1800 for xtended warranty. Car is in mint condition. i paid like 21 out the door.
What you do is pay as close to trade-in value for the car you can. Don't ever pay what kbb or edmunds says is the dealer resell.

I paid 21999 for MY02 CPO 30k miles.. I found most other places for around 20k such as carmax. At first I was not sure the extra 2k was worth it until my top broke and was covered which saved me 2500 parts and labor. Knowing that my drive train is covered for another 4 years or another 60k miles is worth the money. Plus CPO warrenty is better than Honda care's extended one... IMO.
trade in price for a CPO is unrealistic,
I just am shocked at asking prices for CPO's!!! Its such a great car that
I dont want to let a 1000$ keep me from buying a perfect one but I dont want to be screwed either.

What is the charge from Edmunds for the location? NJ and the Northeast is generally higher, as the cost of living is higher up there. I would shop around....within 200-300 miles or so. Then you might get a better price due to location.
Dealer here in FL had 02 w/ hardtop, 24k miles, Rio Yellow (i think), for like $23,500. That $27,000 is WAY high. You could find an '04 for that price in this part of the country! New at the dealer (MY05) they are selling for $29ish!

16,500 miles with the 7 year 100,000 mile warranty from a dealership in north carolina. the guy who owned it before me bought it brand new and drove it on the weekends or pretty days, it's a 2002, spa yellow pearl. taken beautiful care of. i payed $24,500 for it. taxes in SC weren't bad when i got back only 300$. 300$ is the cap off for vehicle taxes here in SC.
