Hopefully they'll go down $1,000.

I got mine a month ago. Certified Preowned Honda with 12.5k on the clock, and got it for 23,000$. I think i came away with a good deal. I shopped around for about 1.5 months. Most of the certified hondas I looked at were all MY02s going around 22-24k all with about 20-30k even 40k (two-four times the miles of the one i found) on them. They were asking 24900, on the sticker. I found it posted on auto trader for 23900 "Special internet price", and i got them to drop it down to 23k.

Car pricing all depends on what market you're in. There really isn't a standard pricing scale for the whole nation.

$1400 was for the extended warranty, not the monthly payment.

Did you buy an extended warranty on top of CPO? If so why???

Bought an 02 CPO in May 05 for $24M in Peoria. It had 13,000 miles. Immaculate. Got the extended 4 yr/100M mile warranty for $900. Seemed like a fair deal, not a GREAT deal. Hope I never have to use the warranty but it seemed like relatively cheap insurance. Its a daily driver and I will put on 100M miles easily within 4 years. I think $23M for the car would have been a GREAT deal.

Unless your addicted to NCS (new car smell) definetly do not buy new. It will depreciate at least $5,000 the minute you drive it off the lot. IMO, your better off buying CPO with extended warranty. Most dealers will give you the name and phone # of previous owner. Give them a call and ask pointed questions about driving habits and maintenance. I have done this in the past with other vehicles with generally good results. Of course if the previous owner was under age 25, don't believe a word. If the previous owner was 72 and used as a grocery getter, you'll be OK.
