Just got an 04 GPW yesterday. Took it home and got a chance today to really go thru it again. Car was certified pre-owned. I got a great deal, so that's not the issue really.

I looked in the trunk to see that i'm missing the tow hooks for the bumper, i didnt get a key FOB or even more then one key actually. I got one key that opens the car and the trunk and is not the s2000 emblem key.

Also, they gave me the option of adding the full bumper to bumper for the 7 year 100k miles. was less then 1,000 to add it on, is this really worth it or is the powertrain satisfactory for the period ?

You can get those things. My g/f bought a certified pre-owned RSX and she only got one key and one FOB. I went online later and found a complete list of what SHOULD come with a certified car. Acura told me to contact the dealer and they would have to provide it.

Go back, you should get two FOB's and three keys I believe. It's odd a dealer would only have one key. Either the original owner lost it or it was repossesed or something. I wouldn't sweat it at all though! It's certified pre-owned so they have to abide by the guidelines from Honda. I'm not sure about the tow hook, but check the website and see what it says is required and just make sure you get it. It should be on honda's website. PM me if you have trouble finding it.

As far as the warranty, I'd be real tempted. I'm pretty sure that Honda's certified pre-owned warranty is the MANUFACTURER WARRANTY and not the hondacare crap they sell when your factory warranty is gone. If thats true then I'd really consider it for less than $1000. It will hardly change the payments (assuming you finance it). Do a search on here where you will see most members think the Hondacare extended service contract they selll is terrible, but the manufacturer warranty is pretty good.

 

I have a set of key fobs if you need em'. and i'll sell them to you for what they're worth. just send me a pm if you want em', no biggie. my dealer thought they'd lost mine, then my salesman found them in his desk after the deal. at my first oil change he gave them to me... i have used them but they are close to new.

they are from a 2002 bought 12/02.

I looked on Honda's website and found the 150 point checklist but nothing about the FOB's or the S2000 Key. Just worried because having one key isn't the greatest and it's not even the S2000 etched key. lol

I wanted red interior, but I dont think that's gona happen. I am in the market to swap though.

BTW I only got one key with my certified and it wasn't the one with s2000 on it. I recently found a JDM key at AJ racing, they have them for $50.

 

called the main Honda customer service # today and they explained I should have recieved, the S2000 primary key, spare key, valet key, and two remotes.

the rep sent an email to my dealership service dept. to have them send me the keys.

fyi before i called Honda, i phoned up the dealership parts dept. 185$ for the S2000 key for my04 and to be programmed. rediculous...even the parts guy was like, "are you ready for this?"

lol.

I just bought a CPO'd 02. Mine was missing the manual, the second FOB and the valet key. I asked the sales guy about it and he said he'd get me a second FOB and order me a manual (I forgot about the valet key...don't really care about it though). Still waiting on both.
