Certified used question
I just recently bought my first S2000 and I love it of course. Problem is that on delivery I noticed a crack and a big scrap on the front bumper. The used car manager came out and tried to say that it was a used car and I had to live with it. When I produced the 150 point certified inspection sheet that said that the front fascia/bumper met "honda certified standards" he agreed to fix it. I made sure we were in agreement about what fixing it was. I wanted an all new bumper and not just a bondo job and he agreed. I had to get home (4 hours from the dealership) so I agreed to bring the car back during my spring break.
I did that last Saturday and got the car back Thursday. I had some problems with them because they wanted to bondo it. I talked to the service manager and he agreed to replace the bumper. Problem this time is that the auto body place that they sent it to did not match the bumper to the rest of the car. It looks like it's been painted a different color than the rest of the car! In the light it's striking. I told my service rep it was unacceptable and he said that the manager would be calling me soon, but still no call.
I want to have my local body shop guy fix this problem now so that A: I know it will be done right this time and B: so that I don't have to drive down there, back here, down there again to pick it up and back here again (16 hours!) and of course the dealer should pick up the tab. Honda agrees that it needs to be completely fixed ie; paint matched. Am I being reasonable? What do you guys think?
PS. My transmission has been working poorly too now. I asked the service guy to look at it and he agreed that reverse, 1st and 2nd had problems but he didn't have time to do a thurough inspection. If my transmission already needs to be replaced after only 3000 miles what the hell good is the certification anyway?!?

quit fooling around with the dealership and contact honda directly. I had a dealership buy a certified S2000 back because I found some accident damage that wasnt repaired particularly well. Once Honda is involved, the dealership becomes much, much more responsive. Good luck.
