This thread is great to read because I'm planning on making the S more track ready on '06 after doing my first event earlier this year (Roebling near Savannah, GA with Chin Motorsports). The problem is that I don't plan on hitting the track more than 2-3 times per year so doing things like a harness and roll bar really starts to add up. I'm just looking to have a little fast fun not get serious so I am planning on spending money upgrading the safety of the car both it and myself. After doubling over in pain from pulled muscles following 2 long days on the track I knew I would need something to help keep me in the seat. Sounds like CG is the way to go for my purposes. Now I can concentrate on getting the banjo bolts updated, hondata gasket, oil catch can, etc. - things for the car's protection.
Thanks again for your input.

Yep, it should definitely help keep you planted in the seat so you can relax a bit behind the wheel. Straining to keep yourself in place is not only physically demanding but takes away from your concentration as well.

Thx Lude.
That Saturday was my first day ever on a track so I couldn't figure out why my buddy was so ticked about forgetting his harness at home. His response to me was that I wasn't going fast enough to really need one. He was totally right because I was white knuckled the whole time especially since the S was still my daily at the time and I had everything form M3s to Porsches to a Ferrari flying around me.
Sunday I picked it up a decent bit, enough to qualify for solo on that track and that night I felt like a linebacker came into my room and nailed me in my lower back area. I figured I strained it hooking up the trailer. My buddy smiled and said nope. Act like you're going through the swooping left turn on number 3. OUCH!!! Thought so. You picked up your speed by such a degree that you had to fight to stay in your seat. You need a harness thus my desire to get something like this device.

I just rapidly pull the belt so it catches and locks, take a deep breathe and snap the buckle in place. It's FREE and it keeps my upper body in place as well.
