Dave, this is from the other thread:
Note: the valves with the lowest cracking pressure happen to have the integrated filter so that's why I ended up using them. They'd flow better without but you know how it goes.

Hmmm, I think I'll modify the VC1 by adding a MAP sensor to it to supply it with a "preset" voltage that varies with atmospheric conditions.. that should alleviate the problem that Shad mentioned.

Dave, that thing (VC1) must take a snap shot or something to establish the clamping voltage to begin with. In any case, your idea of giving it a constant reference via a second MAP sensor sounds good to me.

I think I'll call them tomorrow and see what they have to say.

Boost Kids,
Try this bad boy out...

This will provide a temperature invariant, 2 MAP sensor solution with no diode voltage drops. You can build this F'er for less than 2 bones with parts from Digikey. If you have any questions drop me an e-mail.

OK, before we get ahead of ourselves, I would be interested in how this design behaves in an SC'd vehicle. Is anyone going to build this circuit and road test it in the near future? I can build it in my lab (muuuuuahahhaha), but can only test it on a workbench -- should be the same thing, but you never know. I am more than willing to help anyone out on this project, so if you have any questions drop me an e-mail or PM. Anxiously awaiting initial tests.....

Koejing,

I might be in Sudbury (looks rather close to you on a map) next weekend... would you want to borrow my car for the weekend?

The only thing is that I am not experiencing hesitation yet... just a semi-mediocre output (I think I am getting less than max output)...
