Default charging battery with battery tender plus

Just picked up a battery tender plus to charge the s2000 battery back up due
to vehicle hibernation over the winter, is it o.k. to charge with the positive and negative cable still attached? I just want to double check before recharging as I
dont want to damage anything, what do you think? Thanks for any responses.
Happy v-tecing!

Yes. I've always recharged batteries with the cables attached and have never had a problem

Altho the owner's manual says not to, that possibly the electronics might be damaged.

They may be right. Unhooking the cables is definitely the "safest" way to do it, but speaking from personal experience and charging batteries over the past... oh, say 40 years... I have never experienced a problem.

At our shop we run down and charge batteries on a daily basis (collision repair). Rarely, if ever, are the battery cables unhooked while charging. Zero electronics issues that I'm aware of.
