Default Cheap Security for your 2004+

For those that don't have the factory alarm installed, you might have noticed a round dot to the right of the speedo that doesn't seem to do anything on your MY04+. This is the factory alarm light that blinks when the alarm is activated. What if you could activate this light to blink in a pattern to simulate an alarm system? It would deter possible theft and give an added bit of security.

Anyway, I'm developing a module that does just that (and by "I'm", I mean Modifry's developing it for me through my idea ). I'm shooting for a sale price of $20. It would be an easy hookup that would simulate the real alarm system. Just by having that really bright light flashing, it would make theives think twice about breaking in. I know it won't do anything in case someone does break in, but it's kinda like the ADT sign in the front yard. Your gambling that someone won't take the chance to find out if a blaring alarm will go off.

I wanted to post up here to see if there would be any interest in something like this. It's fairly cheap for some extra security.

So all it does is make an led blink? If that is the case you can do this on your own for extremely cheap. All you need is a 555 timer and a couple of resistors to produce the same effect. All you need is the correct resistor to produce the same frequency of the flash of the alarm led.

I like this idea more than actually having the alarm.

nice idea....although all I'm doing is leaving my radio door open and the radio red light blinks every other second which also stimulates an alarm signal or as such and I been okay so far......knock on wood....

No. The installation part is what I do not want to mess with.

Now if you say $20 bucks include installation then I would.
