I have never seen a car that stripped.

It's like a pack of car Jackals got to it.

Tell me you are covered (insurance).

All the wires and hoses were taken off carefully to not damage it. They're planning on rebuilding the car and selling it to make a $10k profit off it.

Definately not a S2000 owner trying to repair his car with those parts.

There is also no demand for S2000 parts other than the seats to warrent a strip down like that. So it only leaves you with two possibilities...both were mentioned in this thread.

That really sucks to see. I know I'd be pulling my hair out if I saw that. Good luck man, sucks to see another dirtbag get lucky.

sorry to be the sore thumb, but can you be a bit more descriptive?

Like how long was the dinner? Where'd you park your car? Parking lot? I"m just in disbelief that it could have taken them so little time to jack your beauty..
the dinner was about hour and a half, i parked behind the restaurant with plenty of cars around me.

im in disbelief too, but i gotta accept the situation at hand.

I don't think I'd get another S2000. The "immobilizer" technology is just too outdated.
How is the immobilizer technology outdated? I'm assuming for real pros like this guy, the immobilizer is defeatable. But was it

(1) defeated in this case or was there some con going on where the thief had "insider information" (dealership involvement) about this particular car's immobilizer code?

(2) Or was the car towed?

(3) Or some other clever thievery involving valets?

If you know of a way to defeat, really defeat the immobilizer from a technology standpoint and not a con which involves serial numbers, dealerships, copied chips/keys, I'd like to know. If you do know, maybe it wouldn't be the best idea in the world to broadcast it to everyone on this forum and beyond, so you can PM if you'd like

I'd also like to say that I wouldn't not get an S2000 just because "the immobilizer technology is just too outdated."
