i thought a simpler cigarette light has coils
when you push it down it sends current through it and heats it up. when the coil expands to a certain size it pops out.

that was my assumption

Yes, it does, however, in our cars, that power outlet socket is not insulated well enough to have an actual lighter element inserted into it. I would be very afraid that if you were to somehow adapt the socket to allow a cigarette lighter, the heat of the glowing element may cause damage to the socket and perhaps even start a fire.

Not to mention that a lighter probably pulls far more current than the circuit is designed for.

This thread helped a whole lot.

Hockeys directions were the best (especially like him i weight 145 lbs hahah).

All i did was remove the panels behind the seats, took out 1 screw, and pulled the panel up.

Then i reached my hand behind there, grabbed that silver thing that it comes unscrewed from... put the power adapter (cigarette lighter thing) into it, and screwed it back into it...

now it will never come undone!

thanks guys.

A small drop of Loctite should be fine. Not so much that you can't loosen it by hand if you need to, just enough to stop it from loosening by itself.

Just wanted to say thanks for the tips on this thread. Did mine yesterday and also added some blue loctite on the thread. Didn't have to remove the seat to fix it. Thanks guys!
