Thanks guys i appreciate all the help with figuring this out... dealership said they would put in the right seats at no cost. Still a no go? I also noticed the antenna on the back, are all 08 and 09 antennas that long?

That is not the original antenna either.

Weird... Do after-market radios require a different antenna in the S? I wouldn't know I bought my S OEM and don't plan on changing it.

Nope

If I remember correctly the seatbelts attach to differnt places on the 00-05 the lower attachment point is to the frame. 06 one seat belt attaches to the seat and in 07 both attach to the seat. I have not looked close enough to an 08-09, but would bet they also attach to the seat like 07. From a safety standpoint this would be concerning also - where and how did they attach the seatbelts since the 00-05 seats do not have that option.

I just noticed what looks like the radio code sticker on the inside of the radio door - best hiding place EVER!

Yeah I am trying to help figure this whole thing out but on the carfax it says radio installed. Why would a car need a new radio at 12,500 unless an after-market radio was installed and stolen along with the seats. My friend is in Illinois so is trying to decide on whether it's worth driving out to see this mystery vehicle

Well honestly, my Dad has his '03 Pilot's radio replaced at ~10k miles within a year of ownership because it stopped reading CD's. So it is fully possible it was malfunctioning.

But the seats and that CarFax thing are interesting. If the dealership would replace the seats at no cost I'd still consider it.

for the dealer to say they will put in the right seats means an awful large expense for them, over $5,000 and likely more than that for new ones. It would be suspiscious to lose that much money on a deal. Definitely the wrong seats and my guess is that it was involved in a theft, likely one you wouldn't see on a report. New seats, radio, and antenna , maybe wheels too ?, dead give-away. Maybe a new roof too.

Yeah trust me I have definitely thought it through. The dealer said it would be 1600 a seat at their cost. They are still looking at different options (new or used seats) when my friend left it today. Most likely theft but theft alone wouldn't deter me from buying a car. Mainly just accidents or if I thought the car was abused but its still fishy none the less. The saga will continue tomorrow. I thought it was a good deal for an 08 with 22,500 out the door with only 12.5k miles.

Basically we found all the inconsistencies so I guess the question is would any of you buy it?
