What do I care for anyway? I suspect the dealership messed up my back window before I picked up the car and I bought it anyway. I'm not going to sue -- I don't need no stinkin top up anyway.

Plastic windows require more maintenance than glass.
Plastic windows will eventually haze up, some take longer than others.
Many roadsters are sold with plastic windows.
Many roadsters experience the eventual degradation of the plastic windows.
S2000's in MY2000-2001 were sold with plastic windows.
Prepared and smart buyers of the S2000 knew that the car came with a plastic window.

If one is a well-researched educated buyer, one would realise that the S2000 came with a plastic window and the potential for issues of having a plastic windows came with the package. It is a shame that there are so many folks in this country that blame everyone else for their complaints and have to clog up our courts, tying up tax payer-paid time in the judicial system. (not to mention get all those blood-sucking attornies paid...only referring to the blood-sucking ones though) Unless you've got some additional info that we dont already know about, the law suit sounds like a waste of time and resources.

If you are so upset, get over it, sell the car and move on. sheesh!

How about AHM tested the plastic window and thought it was fine because they figured people buying this class of automobile would take care of the car and keep it from getting all scratched and foggy.

I see the Honda apologists are out in force again. There is a reasonable middle ground here. Yes, Honda made a mistake and created a poor design that is not functional. The window does get easily scratched in normal operation. There are quite a few parts on our car that were poorly designed.

And no, this doesn't -- in any way that I can imagine -- merit a lawsuit. Nor, I think, do the other flaws.

In any case, the choices are not limited to:
1. Honda is negligent.
2. Honda is beyond reproach.

The rear plastic window is a problem. Had many of us known that we needed to purchase a muz mat and window tube before thinking about putting the top down (and yes I mean even ONCE), this would not be the issue it is today.

I have also spent countless hours in attempt at restoring my rear plastic window to original condition by using both the products outlined in the FAQ section, and Meguiars cleaner wax, but to no avail. I know a guy here in Portland that has an MY2001, and has a near perfect rear window...that is because he had a window tube and muz mat from DAY 1!

While I think that a class action suit is far too extreme, Honda should stand behind the thousands of MY00 and MY01 owners that are having problems with their defective windows, regardless of scrupulous care and attention to the window. My local dealership pretty much laughed in my face when I asked if they would consider getting me parts at cost if I paid for the labor on a rear window replacement...How can Honda tell some of these MY00 owners that paid 10k over MSRP (in many instances) that it is entirely our problem to deal with? I feel that they should stand behind their product.

I waited to buy mine until they put the glass window in the back. I consider it my own responsibility to understand the car's blind spots and potential component longevity when I buy the car.

If I don't like what I bought, I trade it on something else and move on. No car is perfect, no car has all it's parts last forever.
