I believe the rear plastic window was poorly designed and so did Honda. They changed the design for MY '02. I don't see why they shouldn't fix the MY '00 to '01.

Sure Bill,

Typically it's a tax deductible expense and with even mediocre bookkeeping would also provide the company an ability to record an unforeseen loss, all in all reducing the taxes the company pays within that year and potentially future years. This is basic business and many companies will address situations as this in order to take advantage of the deductions. The parts are ultimately worthless (Old recycled Chevys anyway) versus the legal and 'other' costs a company would incur should such a case take place. Chrysler was spitting people out of the back of minivans and killing them - imagine how much money was spent for legal fees and remunerations. They're not hurting to badly today are they?

If you do have a moment please read my first post on the other thread - I do think the car is a gem. It's Honda's attitude towards 'us' in regards to this defect that is unacceptable. Honda's minions will continue to brush 'us' off for as long as they can because that's what they have been instructed to do. In order to 'make it right' someone has to take the next step - which I have here in Canada on a personal level.

Here's an idea for those who like to think: Anyone in the crowd who could figure out how to make the rear plastic window fold properly without using a noodle? Maybe like one of those 'pop-up' tents with the fiberglass rods that bend one way but not the other? Mounted on the inside perhaps? Scot, Surf2k....Ideas?

This is such a sad thread. I don't see any beeping from the older Z3 owners with plastic windows when they added glass. Sorry but you bought a $30k Honda not a $50k Porsche. Be happy for what it's worth.

Considering the amount of "I lost my rear end threads" I'm still waiting for a class action against Honda for not having traction control

*sigh*

The F20C in its well balanced, 240hp trim is by no means faulty, even when compared to a more powerful version of the same design.

Here's a simple solution to the problem without the hassle of courts and lawyers:

Go and see Muz Muz Mats are here!

Better still, Muz is a regular here with many happy customers.

My rear window still works, not like new but still works. My black paint still covers my car, has a few chips and swirls but it still works. My clutch still works, a little bit louder now but it still works. Things get worn out over time. How long do you expect a plastic window to last?

This is, of course pointless. I don't own an S2000, but I've owned a Jeep Wrangler, and you have the same issue with its plastic windows.

Electric top? Check out the Boxster boards and you'll see Boxster owners have to do the Boxster "chop" when putting the top down to assure the top folds correctly and doesn't put creases in the window.

Plastic rear windows scratch and scuff, it's a fact of life and the main reason why (due to complaints) both Honda and Porsche have now gone to (smaller) glass rear windows...
