Is there an effective product and chemical for doing this?

Any input guys? In the worst case scenario, I'll just leave it dirty and designate it as a pump solely for tranny fluid.

I have one pump for tranny and one for diff. Too much hastle to "clean"...but I would imagine pumping some gasoline through it would clean it effectively...but then what do you do with the dirty gas?

I just changed these fluids today. I just drain as much as possible out, then shove the lubed up pump in a few layers of plastic bag, and stick it in a cardboard box until next time.

If its really dirty why dont you just replace with clean gear oil and replace again after a few hundred miles.

i think the op is asking what kind of chemical is good for cleaning dirty pump after a fluid swap.

i have pump for mtf, and diff fluid.

the mtf pump only are for my s2k and the diff fluid pump i use on my diff, my mazda's diff and mtf, since they all talking 75w90 fluid weight and same brand.

it's a 5 dollar pump, i dont even think it's worth to clean.
