Clearing CEL
so...
1) OP removes cat
2) OP gets CEL, which he ignores for however long he has a TP
3) OP possibly could damage the car because he doesn't know if a different CEL pops up
4) OP wants to sell car
5) OP wants to get rid of CEL so he can unload it onto a poor buyer
6) buyer possible has big problems due to no CEL
??
op, you're a jerk.

Ugh I hate it when people try to temporarily fix a car just so they can sell it. I would be very pissed to buy an 07 for a decent price and find out it has alot of problems the previous owner knew about. If your going to try and sell it, tell the truth to the people who are interested or permanently fix the problems! and a cat does not cost $1000. I sold one for like $70. That would fix the first problem. Then try and find out what the blinking light is, that seems more like a major problem.
Just as a point of reference. Technically and legally, a shop cannot install a used cat for you, even if it came off your car... without first having it tested. They can lose their license. But yes, market price for a used cat is ~$100-150 shipped.
