Cluster Lighting
Ive definitly noticed this right when got the car. I came from the spaceship like EL cluster of 4th gen preludes, and theres no back lighting on them. I kind of wish the S was the same with controlable lighting for speed and rpm with no overall backlighting.
Day-to-day it doesnt bug me at all tho.

I just got my s2000 and this was one of the first things I've noticed driving, or riding in the passenger seat. As the OP stated, there seems to be a metric shit ton of bleeding through at the top of the gauge (above the tachometer). It is more so noticeable from the passenger side.
It actually is very annoying and takes away from the cool effect of the tachometer in my opinion.
So is anyone else getting this? It seems as though the fit and finish of the plastic piece that is placed over the cluster glass was cut imperfectly, leaving about a millimeter of space where the plastic could have been touching the panel's glass.
Anyone know how to fix this? I was thinking about taking off the entire plastic frame and adding some sort of padding on the edges so it is flush with the cluster panel.
PLEASE help... this little "defect" is driving my OCD crazy.

Kaneda, my OCD kicked in when I first got the car also but I don't even think about it now. A shame they let this happen on an otherwise very cool display like you said. I wonder if the brand new cars still use the same display..?
I think you would be the first one to actually do something about it judging by the rest of the responses above.

So other people have seen this too?
Also another quick question that I had... are the button controls on the left side dimmer than the ones on the right side of the steering wheel? Perhaps Honda did this so you wont' be as distracted looking out the left window?

The interior is high quality, audi's are no better, just more bits and pieces. Remember, weight is a factor and the more luxurious and complicated the the higher the weight. The S2000's weight is mostly in the chassis and engine, everything else is kept to essential minimum.
rm7boy and Vik2000:
Is there anyway you can turn your cluster setting to its brightest, and then at night (or when its dark)... would you mind taking a picture of the cluster from the passenger side?
I want to know if this is a general s2000 problem... or just specific, unfortunate s2ks. Thanks.
