Default Clutch Advice

I have the opportunity to buy what I am told is a act stage 2 clutch for really good deal. Its suppose to be in new condition and includes clutch disc, pressure plate, TO bering, and oem flywheel.

I have no idea what act stage 2 looks like so I was hoping someone could confirm it and also does it look new? Also I am considering this or just an oem setup. My priorities are: clutch buzz (please go away), pedal feel (close to oem feel), and its not that important but it would be nice if it could hold more power.

Here are pix I have received:

wattup max remember me? waiting for damn ps3! hahah

well my personal prefereces are oem when it comes down to clutch. yea there are plenty of aftermarket but everyone who installed aftermarket has some kind of issues. minor to major issues. like chattering or rough engagement. i found honda clutches are actually pretty damn nice from my previous rsx-s. it had 80+k miles and half were with greddy turbo and never slipped once. and i really like my car to be silky smooth so i am sticking with oem clutch unless i wanna put down some more hp with turbo or a blower.

Thanks for the advice guys, but I'm wondering how the Act clutch will feel since I think it uses a stock disc anyway (Exedy). Also this Act setup is cheaper then OEM so if its a good setup it would be worth getting. Clutch buzz is definitely a concern, but if the Act is a oem disc the chances of clutch buzz should be the same right?

It is a good setup Looks like an OEM disc, There is only one ACT pressure plate for the S2000. What they do is change the disc to up the clamp force. With the OEM disc in place it is a stage 1 setup, with the ACT street disc your looking at a stage 2 setup, add a 6 puck or 4 puck and you have a stage 3 or 4 setup. Even with the OEM disc in place, using the ACT pressure plate will give you a better clamping force over the stock setup.

Everyone is different...

I love the ACT with stock disk and PP, it has 40% stiffer pedal pressure, it grabs. to many times with the stock system it just would float at 8k
I've been driving stickshift cars for 22 years and I dont ride the clutch

How drivable is it in traffic? I currently have a mystery clutch (used car) and its very heavy and a pain to drive in traffic.

I have a spec lightweight PP with OEM disc and it's easy driving as easy as stock but, when you need that little extra grip it's there. I think the ACT has a little heaver peddle feel than the Spec but, not unbearable.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. I ended up picking up the act clutch. I got it for $300, which is even cheaper then the OEM which runs $350-$400. However it didn't come with the clutch alignment tool, but is it necessary or should the install shop have one?
