This is not a characteristic of the car: it is a characteristic of the driver.

i have a 2003 and i can get out of 1st at ~1500rpm on average. you just have to get used to the engagement point while not giving it so much gas. it also helps if you're not rushing yourself to get going as fast as possible, b/c then you can get a better feel for the engagement point.

Word. What the hell people? My car starts off just fine with only 1500 rpms. It was this way last week with 101,000 miles on the original clutch and it's the same this week with a brand new clutch.

I don't think anyone is "riding the crap out of the clutch". It's just easier to get the car moving if you rev it a little.

Big deal, you can get the car moving at xx rpm. I can just let the car idle and ease the clutch out without giving it ANY gas. Doesn't mean squat. Just rev it a little to get it going. Nobody said anything about riding the clutch.

You awesome "drivers" need to get over yourselves.

Who gives a darn about what rpm you can successfully engage your clutch at... Are the people on this forum that childish that you have to get into a pissing match over something that stupid?
