Default Clutch feels like sandpaper sometimes?

I am new to a manual car so I don't know if this is how the clutch should feel. It is hard to explain, but I will try: When pressing the clutch it goes down smooth but when I lift off it feels like there is a little grab on the way up. Sort of like running your hand on silk then sandpaper. Sort of like it needs oil. I hope I am relaying the problem accurately. It just started happening. I have not experienced the grind that you speak of but I am wondering some how if this is related. My car is a '00 with 13,000 miles on it. Can one shed any light?

Thanks.

Mark

Mark, I had the exact same thing!
see this thread.

When I got my clutch apart, it looks as if the disk had hard spots in the lining on the pressure plate side. Huge grooves in the PP surface!
As time went on the clutch started to drag, so don't wait too long to get it addressed.

I'll take pictures if anyone is interested.

thanks for the advice and link....

Now that today is pretty cool in toronto I have not felt the problem. I guess it only appears in HOT weather. Does anyone know the cause of this? Will it be a recurring problem? Will it always be covered under warranty? Just trying to get informed before I head to the dealer.

Thanks,

Mark

Mark, that's funny because I forgot to add to my description that the problem, at first, comes and goes (one day it'll be fine the next day crunchy again). Soon though, it
