Clutch maintenance consideration for new owners
#11
At every oil change, suction out ALL tbe old fluid, wipe clean with paper towel, fill with fresh fluid.
Its ok to suction/wipe the MC bone dry, so long as you DON'T PRESS CLUTCH PEDAL WHILE MC IS DRY. When you refill with fresh fluid, it will displace all the air and no air will get introduced to the system.
Clutch fluid cycles through the system as you use clutch pedal, so doing swapping just the MC fluid keeps all the fluid fresh.
You only need to do an actual flush if the fluid was allowed to get really filthy, or if you suspect air in the lines. Doing the regular fluid swap will go a long way to prevent both those scenarios.

The only thing that comes to mind is availability. Not everyone has access to a nearby Honda dealer and auto part stores are usually nearby. I've used ATE Blue, Prestone, Honda and STP. No difference in performance. Longevity is not really a concern since I replace the fluid in the reservoir often (once every 3-4 months)
