Clutch noise and TSBs
Yep, that is the sound. I usually hear it during sharp, low speed turns.
As for the clutch rattle, mine is pretty loud too. From what I understand, the TSB isn't really a fix. It may even result in the rattle being louder until it breaks in. The rattle never really goes away.
On the other hand, I can't hear it with the top down, so that is how I spend my time behind the wheel.
About the gear grind. Is it more of ker-chunk or even a thunk as you shift? My friend is a long-time Honda tech and explained it to me like this, "The transmission is designed to be shifted under a high RPM load. At slower speeds, or casual driving, you may want to leave the clutch depressed for a brief second longer and slow down your shift. Almost as if you are shifting a car with a cold transmission." If that doesn't work, you may try switching your transmission fluid to something like Redline. There is no mechanical fix for this particular feature. But, if it is indeed a grind, even at high RPM, then you should take your car in.
Ulitimately, it is your call as to which features you can live with. I am just trying to share with you enough information so you can avoid a dealer doing any major work to your car that it may not even need.

Hey.. thanks for the information.. I really appreciate it. The description you gave for the gears grinding is exactly what my car is doing. It grinds a tiny bit going into 2nd and to 3rd. Its not THAT bad.. but I've had the car about a month now.. and I guess I'm just all paranoid about the lil sounds it makes. But I do find it kinda annoying that I have to shift a certain way to avoid this problem. O well...
You recommended Redline for the transmission fluid. What type of oil should I try using? I know I read this somewhere, just can't find that thread.
Man, I do hope they find a fix for the damn rattling though..
Thanks again man....

No. The 1-2 grind is just like a shift without using the clutch. A klunk or knotchy feel is not a grind.
HeNeSSeY-The oil Honda typically uses is non-synthetic Mobil. It has been discusses that in order for your seals to properly seat, you will want to continue to use a non-sythethic oil in your car. After your oil consumption levels off-around 10k miles-you can switch to a synthetic.

I also have this whirring noise coming from the center console/gear shift area. It is only making a noise when the car is rolling but when its stopped at a light or parked its gone. I just got my S2k today and its driving me crazy. Any idea what it is?
