So, yesterday I found out that I have a complete aftermarket clutch kit in my 2001 S2000.
Honda ran the VIN and told me all the service done by Honda since the day it was purchased. There was no record of a clutch install so it must have been done by some independent shop.
Would anyone have any idea what kind of Clutch Kit was put in? The only thing I know is that the clutch plate was orange and on one side there were little triangles all over it. Thats all the mechanic could tell me. Unfortunately, I was not there when the mechanic had it apart. He said he doesnt know anything about aftermarket parts and was unable to elaborate more on what he inspected. The good news is that he told me the clutch was in great shape. I just wish I knew what kind I have. If anyone has any idea, I know its not much of a description, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

I don't think that one Honda dealer can tell what another dealer has done unless it was paid for by warranty. If the previous owner paid for a new clutch himself (cust pay) at a different dealer, it wouldn't show up on the 2nd dealer's computer. The dealer's computers aren't linked for customer pay work.

So, you might have a Honda clutch just put in at a dealer you don't know about.
