Default Clutch selection

Ok, first off, I must apologize, as the question about to be asked sounds so...noobish. However, the search function on this site is by far the worst.

Anyway, I have a stock S2000 and seems my clutch might be on its way out. Which brand do you guys recommend? On my ITR, I just went with a Exedy clutch, which worked out well. Any particular brand that you guys recommend? I'm just looking for something that will suffice with a stock powertrain, reliable and is easy on the wallet.

Thanks.

Product inquiry moving to S2000 talk.

That done, the ACT street clutch has the best reputation for cost effectiveness and functional. The Exedy hyper singles are well known for short lifespans on the street/.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the stock clutch. For those whose driving style has given them good service and high mileage out of the stock setup, by all means, replace the parts with the same components. However, for those who drive their cars a bit harder and who have had earlier clutch demise, a heavy duty pressure plate can help with giving a better lifespan to the clutch disc, even if it's the stock one. It's just that HTguy offers such a complete package that it's simply economically foolish to not get it if you are going to go with disc, pressure plate and flywheel anyway.

WELL..... stock is good if you don't track/auto-x , BUT you cant really beat the stock disk with aftermarket (act heavy duty) pressure plate. that is by far in my opinion the best combo. I'd stick between these two options unless your on the track a lot!!

I just installed the Hardtopguy clutch package also and I am VERY pleased with the results so far. The clutch feels significantly heavier now compared to stock, but it just grabs 100% better then stock. I would recommend it in a heartbeat.
