clutch slippage!
Well my clutch pedal has been playin games with me lately and not wanting to depress! When upshifting while on the throttle... i realy havent redlined it just take it over vtec and try to push in the clutch and it feels like its getting caught on somthing for a second then goes in. Its got enough pressure on the clutch pedal for that 1-2 seconds to lift me out of my seat then it just snaps down! its hard to explain but i hope somone gets what im trying to say... anyways i did an oil change yesterday and after the change went for a quick ride, while pulling onto the highway i came around the on ramp in third, about 4k and let her rip vtec engaged and at around 7k the clutch just slipped wicked hard almost sounded like the tires broke loose cuz of the way the rpm's just flew to redline! i imediately let off and pulled of the next ramp... while ccruising back home i was just putting along in fourth at about 3k maybe 3.5 and decided to just see if it would slip again and sure enough i gave it full throttle and as soon as vtec engaged the she slipped!!
do u think this is a clutch, slave sylinder, maybe pressure plate or throwout bearing problem?? i dont know if i should just get a whole clutch kit or?? btw my car is an 04 with almost 90k on the 1st clutch...

Your symptom of the engine reving without the car speeding up when you floor the accelerator pedal with the car in gear sounds like the clutch is slipping. That means it's time for a new clutch. I usually replace the clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing at the same time. The flywheel might be able to be resurfaced (I not familiar with the flywheel on the S2000).
Your symptom of the clutch not depressing sounds like something with the clutch pedal linkage. Did that ever happen again or was it a one time problem? Look under the dash, could there be anything stuck around the pedal? (like the floor mat, or a water bottle or other trash)
