Default Cold engine questions...

I mistakenly drove my S2000 past 6,000 RPM and it started to bog down at 7,000ish RPM when the engine temp was at just one bar. I sort of damage did I do? As far as I can tell it still runs the same. I know your not supost to do that to a cold engine but I just totally forgot it was still cold.

you hit the cold engine rev limiter, which is to help prevent you from going past 6k-7k rpm when the engine is cold. that is why it's there in first place as a preventive measure. you didn't do any damage and i hope you learned from your mistake.

don't worry.

Actually the failure is related to oil pressure or a lack thereof. At low temp the oil is thicker and hence is lower pressure. At "3 bars" the viscosity has improved and the pressure higher.....and the VTEC solenoid will engage.
