Default Cold + Wet = Caution

Just a little warning for newer owners, like me, who are driving for the first time in cooler conditions. Fall is upon us here in the east with cold wet weather. Take some time and learn what your car is capable of. The tires do not grip as well when cold. Remember this is RWD, with a lot of power. If you are not careful you may find your ass passing you on the left. S2K is an awesome car. Enjoy it. I would hate the thought of damaging my baby.

Weird... it seems like my ass always passes on the right... not the left. I've spun twice on the street (both times were in at-or-near freezing temps), and both times the tail went right.

But... this is a valid warning. Slow down!!!

This should be noted at the top of the forum. Every year we get a few people who aren't used to RWD and/or the S2000 wrecking because of this.

This will be my first fall and cold weather driving with the car, too. I'm aware that the rain can be a problem if you're not careful, but this is the first I've seen on cold weather and wet (not icy or snowy) roads.

Is this something to be aware of if it's in the 40's as it is here most winters, or is it limited to colder climes?

In the unhappy event of flames, perhaps they will just warm my tires up and keep me and the car safe and sound!

Both my spins occurred on dry pavement. Just cold temps. I've heard the S-02s are not-so-good in sub-50 degree temps. My experience seems to confirm that.
By the way... if you aren't pushing the limits, you shouldn't have much to worry about.
