You are not going to like my answer, but just in case you listen to me I'll give it to you. Save your money for a university degree for when you get out of the service. When I was 22, I was 30k in debt, working full time and going to school full time. I'm now 31, make a nice six figure salary, live in my own house on the beach, have money in bank, and zero debt. I would of loved to have 12k at that age.
