Common problems and complaints about your S2K
I have a '02 and usually have no complaints except around the 19th of each month
I even find my cup holder very useful every morning on the drive to work for coffee. I like to rest my arm on the top of the cup while I shift.
Every car has its quirks, and this one is no different (as far as quirks go).

For my 2001 S2000:
- I'm 5' 11" 255lbs and I fit in the car with no major complaints except my wide back doesn't fit well in the seat bolsters but its not too bad.
- The cup holder is a change holder, nothing more.
- I'd much rather drive the car with the top down (surprise?) because the car is quite noisy especially with the top up.
- The stereo absolutely sucks, I've upgraded the speakers to Boston Acoustics Rally RC620's but its not nearly enough (keep in mind that I am an aftermarket, high quality car audio junkie, so my opinions on this might be a bit jaded
).
- Very little storage space.
- Call me crazy, but for $30k+, don't you think it would be nice to at least get a decent sized, lighted mirror on the sun visor, or perhaps a polarized rearview mirror?
- No adjustable steering wheel (doesn't affect me, but must be a pain for people with long legs).
- The floor mats are very cheap quality and never stay in place, even with the anchor (which I can't understand why Honda couldn't have placed 2 anchors that the carpet "snaps" onto similar to the Volkswagon cars).
- Sideview mirror adjustments are in an awkward location.
- The clock is not always visible unless you have the radio door down. It would have been nice if Honda placed a clock somewhere on the dash instead of on the radio.
- And finally, of course, the plastic back window really sucks. Again, for $30k+, it should have had a glass window from the start (but thankfully Honda finally added it in the 2002 model)
Of course none of these gripes will deter me from enjoying my S2000. All in all, the good certainly outweighs the "not so good".

And cracks easily
I use the cup holder all the time, shifting is a bit awkward but better than Mt. Dew all over the carpet.
The mats on my '02 seem to have two anchors and stay in place well.
Coincidentally Wally, I traded in a '98 GTi VR6 for mine and I never looked back. I do miss the off idle torque, but thats about it.
