I just installed my comptech exhaust yesterday and find it way too loud and annoying at times when I just want a peaceful drive. Does anyone know how well the silencers work. I would hate to take the exhaust off, but as of now that is the option unless the silencers truly quiet the noise.

A bit huffy for a newbie, I'd say - you didn't get an answer because this has been asked and answered a million times, and a search would reveal that.

However, to be a good guy, I will suggest you might PM ACLR8 - I just arranged for him to get a CompTech, and as I recall, even without silencers, he has found it very quiet. He did say the fit and finish were great.

Personally, I like the sound of my 2.2L Mugen - it really has a ballzy tone, not fartiness at all - I think the F22C engine does have a slightly different tone, as well. I am not delighted with Mugen's distributor, nor the prices, but since this is a piece that I see every time I drive the car, and the sound of a sports car is exteremely important to me, tiny power gain or not, I wasd willing to pay whatever it took to get the sound I wanted.

I had the comptech exhaust and didn't even know it had silencers! I have a single now but my comptech was very tolerable without any silencing!
I think it has an awesome tone w/o a silencer!
