Joe I just replaced the soft top on my wifes car for the first time in 11 years. Other than the first 4 years it has allways been parked outside and driven year round. It developed it's first leak last week. Keep it clean and use a conditioner. Don't drop it in extremely cold weather and it will last years.

The top on my 00' still looks good and I have never used 303 or a similar protectant. The car was garaged up until a year ago, it now sits outside but is covered.

With 1,300 miles on it, I don't think 28k is too far off.

I agree. Top in great shape after 4+ years.

Okay, i think this is my goodbye to the board. Even though i am purchasing the car myself, my dad really doesn't like the s2000. Mainly due to the fact that it is small and he is affraid that if i get into an accident and stuff will happen. I respect his wishes because he is my dad so, no more s2k =(. I drove the Z and that was like driving a fat fast pig so, i am going to purchase the g35 coupe. Good bye s2000. It was a one night drive i will never forget.

I've got a very early 00 model that was delivered to its original owner in Sept. 1999. So the car is over 4 1/2 years old. The original owner never garaged the car, and I don't have a garage either. So it has spent every day of its life outdoors, including in the winters of the northeast. I bought this car in Jan of this year, and I am the second owner.

The top is still in great condition. It does not leak. It has no holes. The rubber gaskets are all still soft and seal perfectly. And it still pulls taught every time I close it. It is slightly discolored to a dark grey shade. But I think that's to be expected for almost 5 year old vinyl. My car's top has held up extraordinarily well considering its age and the conditions that it has been subjected to.
