conservative relatives?
just returned from ventura, where i intro'd my conservative parents to the s2k. their jaws nearly hit the driveway when they saw the suzuka parked there. after some oohing and ahhing, first coherent word from each was "beautiful". mom let it go at that. you'd think dad would want to know some specs, how fast, what's under the hood, etc. but no. after "beautiful", all he could say was "how much did it cost?" my reply: "i forgot, dad". all thru lunch he kept badgering me to tell him the price, but all he got out of me was.... "forgot. amnesia. can't remember. sorry". he was pretty pissed about that, but if i had told him the price, it would have been worse. anyway, i had a great 230-mile round trip along the coast, and a nice ride to black angus in mom and dad's lovely sherman tank, i mean buick, green, with all-electric 52-way seat adjustment and wonderful cottonball suspension.

There's something to be said for not being known as a "goodie two-shoes".
