It's the indicator for the optional alarm (Honda option). Flashes when the doors are locked and the system is armed.

I'm still a little concerned about how to get the perforated armrest cover off. Everyone has said to just pull it off; however, mine seemed a little reluctant to come loose. Details anyone? Email would be fine.

Why are you trying to take it off? You don't need to do it to install the console cover.

I had a long post on H-A.net about how to do this. It included many pictures. But I think it was lost in one of the many crashes. On the chance that it's there, you might go over there and do a search.

Ivs2k: I think Rick thinks you are merely trying to take off the perforated vinyl.. The whole middle console comes off with the part that has the perfs. It WILL come off. You cannot wreck anything by pulling hard enough on either side of the back of the console simultaneously. That will start the process of releasing the clips, with the back first, of course.

FYI: It's not perforated vinyl. It's leather.

That looks wonderful, positively awesome!!!

Hot damn I wish I could get a leather boot like that, with the red stitch, for my Subaru. It'd match my steering wheel and shift knob perfectly!

I see someone has already posted a picture, which is good since I'm still digitizing film.

The only other comment I might make is that the tape did not seem all that sticky in spite of the dire warnings in the instructions. Since I drive with my leg against the console, especially when I pull the seat forward to autocross, I will be testing its endurance.

Wow, I guess I was getting spoiled by the quality of Rick's Sig Series leather vs that of the Honda standard!
