cdelena emailed me today to make a suggestion on the console cover installation that I think anyone who's ordered the cover should heed.

The double-faced tape on the sides of some of the covers extends all the way to the front. To make it easier to slip the sides of the cover under the two sides of the head unit cover, you should cut the tape back to at least an inch from the front. This will make it much easier to slip the leather under the head unit cover sides.

To do this, just pull the tape up about in inch and snip it off with sharp sissors.

Hey Rick,

Have these all been sent out? I haven't received mine yet and I see that they are installing them already in Japan!

These things take time (at least that's what Rick told me).

The remaining black/blacks (about 50) the combos (about 10) and a few red/reds should ship this week. Townsend can't produce them any faster and I'm shipping them as soon as I get them.

Every order is being shipped by the date it was recieved: first in, first out. Morangie in Japan was one of the very first to order a red/red.

Please be patient. You won't have long to wait.

Also, if you have a perforated cover you may want to cut the tape away from where there is only one layer of leather. The back of the tape shows through the perf holes otherwise and looks bad. And I would guess that dust will also start to collect and stay in the holes where the tape is. It does make it a little harder to get it straight the first time, but it looks much better than the tape showing.

Additionally, the tape on my cover was not applied to the leather while it was stretched flat as it should have been. If you also have this problem you can cut slits in the tape where the bunched up leather is to get it to straighten out.
