Still noticing things after 1500 miles on my 2003 - The top has a hand insert on the inside leading edge. What is this for? - can the top be put up manually in a case where the electronic motor is bad/or battery is shot? If the answer is generally no; what would it take to disengage whatever needs to be disengaged to get the top up?

 

yes it can nick just check you manual intructions for raising the top manually are there.

I believe it is also there to help hold the top to the windshield when latching shut, if a small gap exists.

It's amazing what kinda of wacky stuff they say about the car in the manual. Might want to check it out sometime. Have you found the secret comparment yet?

 

Actually I read the manual but the part about the top did not register obviously - yes thanks, I found the compartment - glad they worked it in.

Enjoy your car, there's lots of us in Florida. If you're into fun, there's an autocross on sugarloaf key next month around the 8th. Key West will be full of sports cars and harleys that weekend. (There's a Poker run too). We're going to go watch n drink n fish...
