Default Convertible Top Problem

Honda replaced my convertible top a few months ago. Needless to say, I've been enjoying riding with my top down the past two months. A couple of days ago I noticed a buckling in the top, just above the glass window. From what I can tell, there's a plastic strip sewed into the top, perhaps the length of the window. In any case, this plastic strip has been bent or contorted, presumably from normal usage, i.e., putting the top down ann putting it back up again, with the result that that part of the top looks misshapen.

Has anyone else had this problem? Are there any solutions? Should I go back to the Honda service dealer? TIA.

Al

ive never had this issue, but seeing that Honda installed it and warranties it - take it back for inspection and let them know what happened.

Had this same problem some time ago and though my top was broken.
There is a small flat plastic strip that runs the entire width of top and the ends, in my car, are not sewn shut. . Sometimes it gets twisted. it is possible to manually adjust the strip with the top up. Just use your fingers and turn the plastic strip. Might take some time if you have big hands.

Has anyone else had this problem. Honda is balking at repairing or replacing it because the problem is only cosmetic.

I had my top replaced at the dealer for warranty work (the TSB for rips) and it does the same thing. If I leave it up for a few days (its been over 102 the last couple weeks, AC is a must!) it seems to go away. The guy at the dealer that did my top says he has done many s2000's and before he worked at the dealer, he did 1000's for a trim shop. I asked him about it, and said it was "normal". Even when I said my last one didn't do this (had pictures) he said he would look at it, and came back and said it was "ok". I got this on the TSB and I am out of the manuf. warranty, so I cannot complain too much. It also goes away in a day or so. If it didn't I would have pushed it more.
Mine is a simple curl up above the window. You can barely get your hand under it. Is that what you have?

Unfortunately, my replacement top is stitched up in such a way as no one is able to reach in and manipulate the plastic sheet. Apparently the only way to replace the darn thing is to replace the entire top.

This never happened to the original top.
