Default Convincing my dad, exhaust

Hey guys I have been looking into getting an exhaust ever since i bought the car about 7 months ago. I have installed and paid for all the mods myself in the car(listed in the sig). I love the sound of the FIPK at WOT but i want a little more sound. I have my heart set on the Greddy Ti-c single with any 70mm test pipe w/ cel fix. The problem is my dad refuses to let me put an exhaust on the car, even though I would pay for 100% of everything and install it myself. I have already explained to him the fact that they make silencers that take like 2 minutes to put in and makes it much quieter. Also talked about how there would be better airflow meaning better mpg's. NOTHING is working guys. I guess why i making this is to see if you guys have any ideas i can do or if this happened to you too and maybe you did something that let you get an exhaust. btw i get amazing grades and that still isn't enough. Thanks everyone.

Personally I bought and paid for all my cars which doesn't really give my dad the right to say anything.

If your dad bought you the car I suggest buying him out

Seems like you need to ask your Dad exactly why? He obviously has his valid reason.

Yeah the title is in his name and i don't have the kind of money to buy a car. Honestly i have asked him many times and he always says "there is nothing wrong with the exhaust thats on it now and it doesn't need a new one".

yes if your dad purchased the car and its in his name than thats a valid reason to not let you install an exhaust.
I would suggest to him that the exhaust wont be ear shattering loud like people assume aftermarket exhaust's are.

Well, make something wrong with the exhaust on the car. Get a quote from honda for what a new exhaust will cost, then toss him the fact that a aftermarket one would be cheaper.

Hell if the roads in orlando are half as bad as the once in jax it shouldn't be hard to bottom the car out and rip the exhaust off.

well he does have a point but perhaps he is looking at the dangers associated with an exhaust. People slap on exhausts for sound and performance and perhaps doesnt want you to put your life at risk over speeding and such. Im a father too so i can see where he is coming from but if youre mature enough and wont do anything naive then just tell him itll make the car sound much better

I'm going to assume you live at home, too.

His house, his car, his rules.

Rather than focusing on what you want that you can't have, why not just say, "Thanks Dad!" for buying you an awesome car to begin with?

I guess spending $10,000+ on a car for you wasn't enough compensation for your amazing grades?

You said it yourself: you can't afford a car. So quit being so damn spoiled and be happy that your dad bought you an S2000 and let you mod it as much as he has.

If you're not satisfied, move out of daddy's house, get a job, and buy your own S2000.
