Cool windshield
On several luxury cars I've seen what appears to be a UV coating of sorts. When it catches the light it reflects all kinds of colors like someone rubbed oil all over it. See pic below. It's a cool effect, but I was wondering if that was something only done in the manufacturing process or is there an aftermarket product to achieve this. My example photo is of a Peugeot because I noticed it on Top Gear, but I know I've seen it on cars here in the states as well. I know the states are picking about what you put on your windshield, but since I've seen it on other cars it is probably OK. Anybody know of anything. It would look cool on the headlight covers as well IMHO.
I've only seen it on old Ford Tauruses and it was some sort of strange copper color. It's supposed to reduce glare, but honestly that copper color made me sick....literally. Maybe other colors would be okay however.
A few years back some manufacturers applied a vapor deposited film to the windshield. It was used as an electric defroster. As I recall those cars had a slight gold tint. Proved to be bad for radar detectors

It would be cool if you could get a polarized coating in your windshield. Never heard of it though!
What are the advantages? Hmmm, it looks cool. There may be some glare control advantage, but can't you just have something on your car that is cool? I did hear it gives at least 20rwhp!
