Cool windshield
It's not legal everywhere--tint laws are generally state or local, and more importantly, some states actually check it when they inspect, and others don't.
Speaking of tints though, I used to work as an optician early in college, and we put an anti-reflective coating on lenses. It reflects almost nothing as that's what it's designed to do, but it has a slight green-purple tint to it. It honestly almost makes the glass diappear as you look through it. I always thought it would be cool on a car windshield. It's way expensive stuff though. I wonder if that's been put on windshields.

I've only seen it on old Ford Tauruses and it was some sort of strange copper color. It's supposed to reduce glare, but honestly that copper color made me sick....literally. Maybe other colors would be okay however.

Is that out of date, or am I interpreting it incorrectly?
Edit: Eh, I decided to just go to the source: the dreaded ca vehicle code.

If you want to be *legal* about it, which is the issue at hand:
Section 26708
this is so I-have-spent-all-my-money-on-modding-and-perfecting-my-s-and-now-I-have-nowhere-else-to-spend-my-money-anymore-on-my-s type of (upgrade?) which i think is totally unnecessary.
+1 to the person who said it's ugly.

Mostly it was curiosity that spawned the interest, but if done right, I think it looks good to have a windshield that subtly changes color in the sunlight. It's not purple like the vidcap. That was what it happend to be on that frame.
The whole point of customizing a car is to please yourself. I'm sure you didn't care what color your S was, just that it had all of the tech mods associated with you breaking some speed record. Well I am savvy enough to appreciate both performance and visual ques. I was curious if it was something that could be done so I posted the question. Luckily the board has such astute members as yourself to add value to the topic.
What's ugly BTW? You have a clear windshield. I asked about a mostly clear windshield that has a slight shimmer to it.
Go troll The Corner! I'm sure they will value your expert opinion there.

and yes, uglier than a clear one.
and no, it doesn't look good on s2k.
and yes again, it's a waste of money to have it.
might as well end up looking retarded like s2k with lambo doors.
These colorful stuff simply don't work on s2k I believe.
But again, these are all IMO, and it's how I feel towards the windshield.
Please don't be butthurt.
Thank you
