Smile Cop pulls me over in HIN...

i roll into HIN and some cop waves me towards him. long story short, he said my corners were clear and that was illegal, he said they HAVE to be amber. can anyone confirm this? is there anyway of fighting this fix-it ticket?

funny thing was he made me pop up my hood, luckily i was all stock. then he looked at my engine, and was like "is this vtec legal?"

lmao wtf...?

"no officer, this is the illegal vtec..."

i did the whole "officer i just bought this car" and the "what!? they're illegal, i didn't know!" lines but didnt work.

If you're in California, traffic laws mandate that all side reflectors be of an amber color. A fix-it-ticket can be easily combated by fixing the issue and going to the police station to get it okayed by an officer. You can otherwise pay the fine if you wish to keep the clear reflectors.

Turn signal lights also must be amber and maintain the stock clicking rhythm (some ricers like to speed up the blinks). The lens that covers the amber bulb can; however, be clear.

CR reflectors are amber, so no issue.

Now, sidemarkers are clear with amber bulb, and if OP got a ticket on that, that's wrong.

HAHA, that was a good laugh. I guess the VTEC in the accord is the legal one then... Anyway, at least in VA you can go to court showing you fixed the item that you were cited for and the judge usually would dismiss the case. Good luck to ya.
