general rule of thumb: if its not stock, its illegal.
of course, you can find exceptions but generally thats what'll make you pay.
but, then again, you gotta pay to play
and a fix it ticket for clear sides is not bad at all... dont know why it even warrants a thread haha

WOW! Just wow. That is just terrible. At least here in Chicago, as long as you have amber/yellow colored blinking bulbs, they usually don't bother you. I did purchase the chrome bulbs from Ricks, so I have the "clean" look to go with my cleared lights.

What is silly about this whole issue is many cars do not even HAVE side markers(I assume we are speaking of the turn signals on the front qtr panels right?) If some cars have them and some don't what difference does it make if they are clear or amber? Just having extra turn signals on the side of the car is helpful for others to have one more clue about what the cars around them are doing.

as for searching your vehicle, if they think drugs then not letting them search may mean a long ass hassle for yourself as you wait for the dog to get called out. But they don't have dogs for what he was looking for so i would no be inclined to NOT pop my hood. He does not need to detain you further with an over reaching search!

Go to the court on that date, dress nice and just told the judge that only the cover that are clear but the light bulbs are amber. He might send somebody go with you to take a look at the car then write that ticket off.
Better yet some state you just go to any state station like DMV or Police Station to have them write off the ticket.

Incorrect color of turn signal (24953 VC). It must be white or yellow to the front, red or yellow to the rear.
Illegal color of side marker lights (25106, 24003 VC). If present, must be yellow in the front and red in the rear.
