Guys, they a different cars. I am smiling just at the though that my stook can be compared with the Vette, Z3 M series, Boxter S, and the Audi TT.

Not to mention it has also been compared with the Miata ( price only! )

Pardon the phrase. but " I am smiling, while driving my Stook, all the way to the bank"!

PS. Did I mention that I got 30 mpg on the trip back from Ashville!

Id take an S2000 over a Vette any day. I dunno why but I dont really like the new vettes. Or the really old ones. But the middle ones with the big fender flares look pimp. Right now the s2k is my number one choice of car . Lots of hot new cars are coming out for '03 but I dont think I can wait that long. Plus shes priced right, and should still be a blast.

Thats strange because all my friends and coworkers who have the new vettes bitch so much about taking theirs into the shop so often? And the wait for parts is outragous?

I drive Corvettes EVERY DAY! I sell them. They are awesome cars:

Well built
Fun to Drive
POWERFUL
FAST
Luxurious
Reliable
Roomy
Can fit a couple sets of clubs in them

BUT

I could have bought a low mileage C5 Convertible instead of my S2000 for wholesale. I chose the S2000. Why? I think it's just more fun! I moved up from a 2000 Mustang GT so I was used to the power and torque. But having that tire spinning power just gets old. The S2000 I believe "shmokes" the C5 in looks - you may agree or disagree. A lot of time went into this car.

Drive a corvette you get torque, NO DOUBT!

Drive an S2000 heads will turn, people ask you questions, and you might convince someone to get one for themselves.
A true low-end sports car that Chirps with power, and style.

Why even think of a Corvette.

If your going to spend that much money buy a Boxster S

Just drive them both, and it s/b obvious what floats your boat. Both are excellent cars, just very different. Most of us here know the S2K's many advantages, so I'll point out some of the C5 (I've had plenty of seat time w/ a couple of C5's):

1) Better daily driver, probably the best of any sports car (plently of interior room, comfy, good luggage capacity)
2) torque! you have a wider choice of useful gears at any given speed
3) features - the C5 has lots of cool toys like HID, active handling (makes you feel invincible!), auto climate control, computer, etc.
4) choice of body styles to suit your preference
5) wide range of options
6) extensive aftermarket support, and significant HP gains can be made at a relatively low cost
7) auto available for those who use it for long, gridlocked commutes
8) much better stereo, though Bose still blows

That said, I still picked the S2K and have no regrets. If this was to be an only car, though, I would have picked the Vette (though it would now be an M3).

[QUOTE]9k rpm's that is needed to make high enough HP out of a small engine...kind of gimick. I think most people on this board would love to have had a 3.0 inline 6 with an 8k redline and much more torque...and possibly more HP. A high redline is a way for compensating for lake of displacement, but it does make a neat noise!!

A high HP, high torque engine...does not have disadvantages. The reason F1 cars and what not rev so high is because they have low displacement engines. If all of sudden people could use 6 liter engines you wouldn't see 3 liter 15krpm engines anymore...you would see 6 liter 9-10k rpm engines....you know you would. That is why i said it is kind of gimmick. The engine would be more flexible and the S2000 would be easier to drive fast and launch if the displacement was larger. Now, if you could get 9k rpm from a 3 liter engine..that would be great...if not...and 8k rpm redline would be fine with me..in exchange for 50-75 more lb/ft of torque and at least as much HP.
