Corvette or S2000
The Z06 is an awesome automobile but most will not be knowledgeable enough to appreciate its true individualality.
Here in So. Florida Corvettes are like Mustangs.... there everywhere and not highly regarded as a "cool ride".
The S2 on the otherhand can sit amongst Diablo's, Viper's, Ferrari's and still draw a crowd. Girls down here think S2's are cool where a vette is not. Just telling you what they say! Heck a SL500 is considered a "minimal vehicle" here and no big deal. Most of my neighbors have at least one.
Not a exageration because here daily sightings of Z-8's, Diablos, Ferrari's, Viper's, Hummer's, Bentley's, Rolls, are the norm.

BigWave is right.
The Z06 will dance all over the S2000's performance numbers, and I personally would have bought one if they made a Z06 convertable. The fact of the matter is, it looks like every other corvette on the road, save the airdams and badges. Even in cold-climate Michigan, you can't pull up to a stoplight without seeing a Corvette. Chicks just don't dig em as much. They call em mid-life crisis cars. My sister told me she would never talk to me again if I got a Corvette. Don't know why. I think they are great cars.
But, when I'm driving around Bloomfield Hills, it's the people in the Vintage cars waving at me and the Z8's and Lexus SC430's who are asking the questions about my stook.

I don't buy a car to impress other people. However people do react differently to the two cars. In the s2k, it was the honda kids getting excited over it. In the z06, it's kids in pickups and overweight middle aged men.
Anyway, I wasn't blown away with the c5, but the z06 on the other hand is pretty fun. If you're a car nut, it's worth wrangling a test drive in one.

Maybe the word is EXOTIC. Ferrari, Lamborghini, a few Porsches, BMW's and very few Mercedes. But, for some reason the humble(?) S2000 has inherited the label - it's EXOTIC. I hope it can stay that way. If Honda ever decides to make one for everyone in the world then EXOTIC will cease to apply. If they aren't common, maybe they can remain EXOTIC. I like the Vette, but let's face it, it's not EXOTIC. From what I'm reading, just ask the ladies - they're the best judges of EXOTIC - except for my wife (she married me).
A high HP, high torque engine...does not have disadvantages. The reason F1 cars and what not rev so high is because they have low displacement engines.
In addition to that, it's harder to built a light and balanced cars with bigger engines. And if you stick to small engine displacements, you just need the rpm to achieve the level of HP you want.
But again, I don't actually work for Williams or McLaren, so I might be wrong.

Now let's see, current F1 cars have about 800 hp from a 3 L. If you instead use like a 6 L engine, sure you can get 800 hp as well, but what about torque?? The engine can have something like 800 hp and 600 lb-ft easily. I don't think 600 lb-ft of torque is very helpful in those conditions.

engine is in the middle after all...giving a low polar moment of intertia.
There's some smart people on this board that know their stuff. I don't get involved because I would have no idea what you are talking about. Blah Blah Blah

My point is, a 6L is going to put a lot more torque than a 3L does. You don't want too much torque in an F1 car because it'll make the car near impossible to drive on a track. Current F1 engines are pushing ~300 lb-ft of torque, and it's already a hard car to drive.
