This Corvette wanted to race me...
I was stoped at the light and this older Corvette stoped next to me. He started to rev his engine, but I couldn't do anything since I only had 220miles on my car. So I didn't race. But if I have raced him, do you think I had a chance?
It obviously depends on the what was under the hood of the Vette. But many of the older muscle cars from the late 60s and early 70s can be beaten by the S2000. Many of those cars ran in the 15's in the 1/4 mile and you shouldn't have too much trouble with them off the line, they may get a lunge off the line, but they run out of steam and you should keep pulling...also since you will probably be shifting less then they will, if they shift at all...
Then again, it could be a whole bored out, cam'd beast of a motor under there that cranks out of 500 ponies...you never know until you try....not that I am encouraging street racing or anything!

depends on older...
I think the Vettes from about 72+ are a bit on the slower side due to emissions and fuel issues...
But, you could get the big block in 69-70 that was still putting out some SERIOUS HP...
Of course, to me, anything earlier than a 90 is considered older, so its a toss up...
FWIW, I think the 1974 Vette has under 200hp due to the fuel and emissions concerns... They got it back up to almost 200 before closing out the C3 bodystyle.
