Default Cost Effective Way to Lower the S2000

I want to get some 18" wheels for my car but I'm afraid it won't look good unless I lower my car. I don't want to compromise the great handling of this car by cheaping out on how to lower it, but I don't want to spend huge sums of money to improve the handling either.

So, about how much of a drop to make 18's look okay? 1.2" 1.5" 2" ??

What's the most cost effective way to lower it to make the 18's look good without making it handle worse than stock?

Maybe $600 for the shocks + anywhere between $200-$300 for the springs and $100 for alignment.

Taller tires to make the wheel well gap "appear" like you are lowered. An old hot rodding trick back in the day.

Maybe. PM "RT" on this board for info. Ray's car has seen a lot of miles now, on street and track, with those cut springs. Of course, back when he did it there were no other options, because his car is a MY2000.

He's also the first one to get Fikse 18s for the S2000. Fikse has a picture of his car on their website.
