$4000 for six month is crazy.

I was 19 when I got my s2000 and now I'm 20 and its much less then that for an entire year.

As for maintance cost, its not bad at all as long as you DIY.
~$35 for synethic oil and filter. Walmart sells 1 gal (4qt) of synethic mobile 1 for about $20. (you need 5.1 qts)

Diff fluid cost about $10 x 1qt = $10
Tranny fuild cost about $4 x 2qt = $8

As for gas I avg'd 26mpg with about 60% freeway driving. So gas mileage is pretty good for a sports car.

I'm going to get a new set of rear tires soon, so that will be like ~$325.

If you are going to have fun with the car and get another one in a few years.

A good set of tires and a beefier clutch and suspension should be enough to keep you busy.

S-03's last longer.
I think the thread wear on the S-03 is 220 vs 140 on the S-02

19?? Can i ask a personal question as to how you afforded an S at 19? as well as the insurance etc...

Just curious what you do, or if its a gift from your parents etc.

Im 20 and live in England and there aint no way in hell any insurance company is insuring me on a S, 25 and over.

04 comes with re050 which are $220 or so a tire for the rear last time I checked online at tirerack. I am almost near the 1 year mark (oct) and so far I have done 4 oil changes, 2 tranny oil change, 1 diff oil change, insurance, and alarm for a rough total of $3200. Insurance was the big money as 2800 was for the last year, can't wait for the 25yr old discount. Next purchase are tires for me as i'm approaching 13k, but over half are from highway driving
