Default Cost of painting

How much should I expect to pay to get my MY'00 repainted, same as before, Berlina Black? The paint is currently in bad condition.

Just want to know what's reasonable before I go for an estimate.

Thanks.

Depends on where you go. High end places can charge up to $5000. I was quoted $2000 to repaint with a stock color. This did not include dropping the engine. This was a place that does a lot of show cars.

I was told 5,500-7,000 to repaint my Z a different color ( Yellow ). They have to pull the engine and all so there isa lot of work involved. Also, it is a good shop that does great paint work.

Also just had my rear bumper paint by that shop. Someone ran a damn kart into my car even though I was way in the back of the lot. The normal price was 514 dollars, but I know the guy and he did it for $225. Keep in mine my rear bumper is a bit larger then all of yours.

if you're painting the same EXACT color, you could pay $250 at maaco or expect $2,500 to maybe $4,000, depending on your region and quality/price of the paint shop.

Make sure you get a great paint shop. Do your homework. I have a paint drip on mine I'm still tring to get them to finish working(fixing) it. I think the best thing is to find a place that paints race cars but I don't know of any right now.

Sabbath,

Those were a bunch of extreme examples. On one end, you have spraypaint, Earl Schieb...the other a classy 5,000 paint job.

I am sure you could get a decent job for 1,500-1,700 if.....

*You get the same color. This means they don't have to do engine bay, doorjams, trunk etc.

*You do some of the prep yourself. Spent some time sanding the rough spots before you send the car out.

*Shop shop shop. Someone you know knows someone who knows someone who paints cars! Get a good deal from him.

Dude

If you are close to Vancouver take it to Canada. You will save substatially on any labor because it will be in Canadian $ and if you pay cash you can probably get them to skip the tax or at least you can claim part of it back.

Good luck.
